Day 1: Arrival
Upon your arrival to Cairo, our experienced
devoted team will assist you with all Passport and luggage formalities. You
will be immediately escorted to your Hotel to enjoy a relaxing evening
before embarking your body and soul in to a unique journey in the land where
Christian Monasticism was born.
Day 2: Coptic Cairo/Matareya
Our first destination will be Coptic Cairo; one
of the most ancient parts of Cairo. We will visit the Hanging Church famous
for being built on top of the Roman Walls (old Babylon Fortress), St.
Barbara Church with its beautiful restorations after the Fire of 750 AD, St.
Sergius Church which was built on the spot where the Holy Family has rested,
St. George Church the Greek church built on a Roman Tower, The Virgin’s
Church where the relics of St Demiana and Simon the Tanner are kept, and Ben
Ezra Synagogue a former Church who became a Synagogue thanks to Abraham Ben
Ezra.
Our Second destination for this day will be
Matareya to come close to the Tree of the Holy Virgin and visit the Holy
Family Church together with St. Mark Cathedral which hosts St. Mark’s
relics.
Overnight in Cairo
Day 3: Mokattam
After the exciting sightseeing of the day before
we will take this morning to relax at leisure. And in the evening we will
visit the Monastery of Saint Simon The Tanner in Mokattam. Inside the
Monastery there are seven beautiful Churches hidden between huge caves. We
won’t walk except with your nose up in order to look at the stunning
Biblical carvings on the caves.
Day 4: Natroun/Alexandria
Early in the morning we will visit the various
Monasteries in the Natroun Valley like the Monastery of Al Baramus
(Monastery of the Romans) built more than 1600 years ago. Monastery of Al
Saryian famous for The Church of the Forty-Nine Martyrs. Monastery of Abu
Makkar, built by St. Makarius the great in the 4th Century. Then we will
proceed to the city of Alexandria. There we will visit the Monastery of
Saint Mina the wonder worker (also known as the soldier saint). The
Monastery also where Pope Kyrillos VI is buried. Then we will have the
chance to visit the Cathedral of Saint Mark the Evangelist famous for being
the seat of the Pope of Alexandria.
Overnight in Alexandria
Day 5: Alexandria-Cairo
Breakfast in Hotel then visits to Visit to
citadel of Qaitbay, Roman Theatre, Montazah Palace, and Pompey’s Pillar.
Then back to Cairo to enjoy a relaxing evening
free at leisure before continuing our spiritual path.
Overnight in Cairo
Day 6: Cairo-Menya
Transfer to the city of El Menya to visit Gabal
Al Taier (the bird’s mountain) where the shape of the hand Jesus is
miraculously imprinted on one of the rocks; Al Barcha Monastery and Church,
and The Virgin Mary Church, all highly archeologically and spiritual sites
enclosing hundreds of decades of history.
Overnight in El Menya.
Day 7: Menya-Assiut
After an early breakfast in El Menya we will
start our journey towards Assiut to visit the Monastery of the Virgin Mary
(also known as Al Muharraq), this Monastery is huge, more than 100 monks
live under its roof, it has 5 churches and a very big library. We will then
visit Saint Mary Dronka
Overnight in Assiut
Day 8: Assiut-Luxor
After breakfast in Assiut, we will move to the
ancient city of Sohag and visit the Saint Mary Monastery (Red Monastery) and
the Saint Shenouda Monastery (White Monastery), and Abydos famous for the
great temple of City First. Afterwards we will hit the road to Luxor.

Day 9: Luxor
Breakfast in Hotel then we will the most
important pharaonic monuments in Luxor such as Thebes, the Valley of the
Kings, and the Luxor Temple.

Day 10:
Luxor-Aswan
Breakfast in Hotel then back again on the road
to reach Aswan where we will visit the Monastery of Saint George, Monastery
of El Shayeeb in Esna, and the Monastery of Saint Pachomius in Edfou
Overnight in Aswan
Day 11: Aswan
Breakfast in Hotel then Fellucca ride among the
scattered tiny islands of Aswan, visit to the Elephantine Island, the
Botanic Garden of Kitchener, and the unfinished Obelisk. We will then cross
the other side of the bank by Fellucca and ride the camel to reach to Saint
Simeon’s Monastery (also known as Anba Hadra).
Day 12: Aswan
Breakfast in Hotel then visit the Cathedral of
Saint Hadra, the High dam, Philae Temple, and Nubian Monuments
Then we will take the afternoon off to relax and
reflect on the inspirational experience that has ended….
Transfer to Aswan Airport for departure to
Cairo. And final departure from Cairo International Airport.
