Day 1:

Leaving El Alamein, we head to Siwa. Upon our arrival to Siwa, we check in our hotel. Tour the Local Market and the Palm Groves. We tour the old Siwan village of Shali, Overnight in Siwa Oasis (Siwa Paradise). Hotel (L,D)

 

Day 2:

After breakfast, we start our day,Using the local mode of transportation, (donkey drawn carts) we tour the palm groves, visit the mountain of the dead and the temple of Alexander the Great. We have lunch in a local restaurant under the palm trees. We tour, Cleopatra’s spring, and Temple of Aghrumi. Our next destination is the Great Sand sea; we have tea and watch the beautiful sunset over the dunes. Upon our return to Siwa the rest of the evening is free  for shopping around for Siwan crafts and antiquities.

Day 3:

Today we have an Early breakfast; we start our route to Bahareya Oasis. THE DESERT! Known as the Sahara and covering over 95 % of Egypt, it’s really a multi-faceted environment, unique and rarely visited. We’ll use 4-wheel vehicles to go well off the beaten tracks and explore unusual landforms, remote oases (Baharein, Nawamisa, Sitra, and Arag), and remains of bygone civilizations, definitely the most interesting is passing through magnificent sand dunes of the Great Sand Sea --bring those cameras and flashlights again!

 

Our first stop is the Beautiful and uninhabited oasis of Baharein, we explore the once inhabited oasis, tour the catacombs, and have tee and a refreshing drink. We continue our route alongside the lakes of Bahrein and sitra, we stop for pick nick lunch on route.

Finally BAHARIYA, home of the Valley of the Golden Mummies!  Overnight in Bahareya Oasis
(Qasr El Bawiti). Hotel (B,L,D) (driving distance of 450km)

 

Day 4:

BAHARIYA and ARCHAEOLOGY DAY! We’ll take an insider’ look at the famous mummies and tombs of the nobles, we visit the tomb of ZED Amoun of Ankh, the tomb of Benantue. We’ll also visit a temple to Alexander the Great, the only one in Egypt; perhaps he is buried here.

After lunch, We’ll plunge deep into the desert again! We visit The Black Desert and its volcanic remains; the White Desert and its unusual limestone formations; Crystal Mountain. Unique oases, mummies, Roman ghost towns and pottery: the day will make the desert come alive as no book or video could ever do!

In the evening...another desert cookout, Bedouins dancing and singing, with millions of stars for light--perfect!

Day 5:

Upon Arrival to Farafra oasis at we bath in the hot spring and meet an artist who uses local products in his art . After tea, we head to DAKHLA Oasis. Next in line is the Old Covered City, with its oil press, school, and courthouse and dwelling chambers. After lunch we visit the tombs of El Muzawaka, and Deir El Hagar, later on we check in our hotel,  In the evening, we enjoy the hot spring of Bir El Gabal

 

Overnight in Dakhla Oasis. Hotel (B,L,D) (driving distance of 300km)

 

Day 6:

After breakfast, we start our day, we reach Kharga. Kharga the largest and closest to the Nile valley. We visit the Kharga museum, Hibis temple and El Bagawat Cemetery.  After lunch in a local restaurant. We examine the antiquities of El Kharga, we relax at our hotel enjoying the swimming pool.

Overnight in Kharga Oasis.Hotel (B,L,D) (driving distance of 150km)

Day 7:

After Early Breakfast, we head to Luxor. (B) (driving distance of 300km)

Practical information:

 

Insurance: All cars and participants joining our tours are insured against accidents.

 

Participants should bring:

  • Hats, sun glasses

  • Prescription medicine

  • Passport’s and copies

  • Bathing suits

  • Sweatshirts and trousers for night time

  • Shorts and t-shirts for mornings

  • Scarf

  • Flash light

  • Depending on the location, expect basic conditions and some long driving days.

 

Payments and rates

 

·         Deposit of 50% should be secured one month prior to arrival

·         Full payment three weeks prior to tour

 

NB. Tour leader should be notified of any special medical requirements (Diabetes, Blood pressure)
